EchoWay Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
What we collect
EchoWay works without an account. When you open the app we create an anonymous user ID so your lesson progress, points and vocabulary reviews can be stored. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we also store the email address Apple shares with us (you may hide it) so your progress follows you to other devices.
We store: completed lessons, points, vocabulary review schedules, your chosen traveler voice and your explanation language. We do not collect location, contacts, photos or any advertising identifier.
Microphone and speech
The current version does not use the microphone. If a speaking mode is enabled in a future version, audio is processed on your device by Apple's speech recognition and is never uploaded by us.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report: the technical stack trace, device model, iOS version and app version. Reports are not linked to your name or email and are used only to fix bugs.
Feedback
When you send feedback from the app, your mail app opens a message to feedback@echoway.app. It includes the app version, device model, iOS version, explanation language and, from the Passport tab, your user ID, so we can find and fix the problem. You can edit or remove these lines before sending. We use your email only to reply.
Where data is stored
Progress is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication) under Google's data-processing terms. Data is protected by security rules so that only you can read or change your own records.
Tracking and advertising
EchoWay contains no advertising, no analytics that profile you and no tracking across apps or websites. The only diagnostics sent are the crash reports described above.
Deleting your data
In the app: Passport tab → Sign in → Delete account. This removes your profile, progress and vocabulary data from our servers immediately. You can also email feedback@echoway.app.
Children
EchoWay is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the anonymous ID described above.
